Skip the coffee with roasted chicory root, chocolaty cacao nibs, bright citrus notes and a hint of warm spice.

Roasted chicory root is a rich coffee alternative passed on from the ancient Egyptians. Chicory tea can be drunk as a digestive aid, and studies show that it may have anti-inflammatory benefits due to its phenolic compounds.

Although chicory is caffeine-free, we mix it with delicious cacao nibs, which provide a small amount of caffeine. The addition of orange peel and cinnamon makes this a light, bright aromatic drink.

Enjoy in place of coffee in the morning and any time you need a pick-me-up.

Directions: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of tea. Steep for 5 – 10 minutes and strain. Vary the amount of herb and steeping time to your preference.

Ingredients: Cichorium intybus (chicory) root, Theobroma cacao nibs**, Citrus sinensis (orange) peel*, Cinnamomum verum (sweet cinnamon) bark**.
