FAQs

Why isn't natural perfume as strong as my regular perfume?

Natural perfume is beautifully complex but more subtle than synthetic perfume. Botanical perfumes have a light sillage (scent trail). They are more personal, in that they are detectable to only you and those you invite into your personal space.

We love perfumer Sophie Labbé’s explanation: "A quiet sillage is a fragrance for yourself, for your well-being. It's not to make people approach; it's just for you." For this reason, natural perfume roll-ons are perfect for the office environment, or anywhere synthetic fragrances are unwelcome.

How long can I expect the perfumes to last on my skin?

Our perfumes will last anywhere from two to six hours or more. Check out our FAQs for a list of factors that determine the longevity of natural perfumes.

Botanical perfumes are fleeting by nature. They don’t contain the chemical fragrance extenders found in synthetic perfumes. We see this as a benefit and find reapplying natural perfumes throughout the day a lovely ritual.

Are your perfumes organic?

We use organic ingredients whenever possible. The perfume blends range from 76.5% to 92.5% organic. If an organic essential oil is out of stock, cost prohibitive or inferior in scent quality, we'll reach for a wildcrafted alternative. Very few oils and extracts in our current collection are grown conventionally. All ingredients are sustainably sourced. Please email us for specifics at hello@pressandstill.com.

Perfect

Cleo is the perfect perfume. Soft and powerful, complex and grounding, sophisticated and comforting; I feel fully womanly when I roll it on. Whether I am going out or staying in, it is always for me.

Amazing, complex and deep

Cleo is everything most rose perfumes aren't. It's a rich scent where the rose can show off its mature side thanks to sandalwood and vanilla. The cardamom top note seriously makes me feel like I'm being wrapped in a cashmere blanket, light while still being richly decadent. I always feel beautiful putting this on.
